Julie began her career as a Speech/Language Pathologist in 1988, after earning her Master's Degree from Washington State University. Julie completed additional graduate coursework in Early Childhood Special Education at Idaho State University. Prior to joining the staff at Center for Pediatric Therapy in 2012, Julie worked with children with a wide variety of speech and language needs in hospital based out-patient clinics within Spokane for 16 years. She has also worked in an inpatient Brain Injury Unit, the School Setting, and developed a Speech Pathology Department within Bannock Regional Medical Center. Julie is a member of the Inland Empire Maxillofacial Review Board, and works with many children with cleft lip and/or palate, VPI (palate insufficiency/incompetence) or oral motor coordination issues. Julie has completed level 2 Prompt Training and advanced training in palate issues. Julie also has a passion for children who joined their families through international adoption. Julie has firsthand experience in raising a child with a cleft lip and palate.
