Speech language pathologists provide skilled services to children who are deaf and hard of hearing. We have experience with hearing aids, BAHAs, and cochlear implants. We will work with a child and their family to encourage sound awareness, sound discrimination, and assigning meaning to sounds. We will help develop vocabulary honoring a family’s preference of any combination of spoken language, American Sign Language, or picture/computer systems as needed to help a child express wants, needs, and opinions. Our emphasis is early intervention, parent education, and collaboration with a child’s audiologist and Teacher of the Deaf to create treatment plans to improve a child’s quality of life.
